How this calculator figures it
Sod is sold by the piece and the pallet; this tool divides your area by the piece size you select and adds 5% for cutting around curves and edges. Pallet coverage uses the 450 sq ft US industry standard published by Turfgrass Producers International — actual pallet sizes range 400–600 sq ft by region and farm.
How it works
Worked example — a 25 × 40 ft lawn in 10 sq ft rolls: 1,000 × 1.05 = 1,050 sq ft, which is 105 rolls or 2.3 pallets. Order 2 pallets + 15 rolls, or round up if your farm sells whole pallets only.
